Applus+ Laboratories has expanded its capabilities in the United Kingdom with the launch of a new UKAS-accredited electrical safety testing laboratory at its Silverstone facility.
The newly accredited scope includes IEC 62368-1 for Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment and IEC 61010-1 for Test, Measurement, Industrial Control and Laboratory Equipment. While these standards form the initial accreditation scope, the laboratory can also support testing to a wider range of electrical safety standards.
The new electrical safety capability complements the laboratory’s established EMC, environmental and vibration testing services, further strengthening its ability to provide qualification and compliance support for electrical and electronic products from a single location.
By bringing electrical safety, EMC, environmental and vibration testing together under one roof, Applus+ Laboratories can support manufacturers throughout the product development process, from design validation and troubleshooting through to final qualification and market access testing. This integrated approach helps reduce project complexity, streamline testing programmes and simplify supplier management.
Customers can also benefit from the wider capabilities of the Applus+ Laboratories network. Through a single point of contact, manufacturers can access support for international approvals and certifications, including NRTL certification for North America, CB Scheme testing and certification, radio approvals, UK regulatory compliance, EU compliance services, and broader global market access solutions.
Through its global network of laboratories, certification bodies and regulatory experts, Applus+ Laboratories helps manufacturers accelerate access to international markets while reducing certification complexity.
